The International Cricket Council, the global body of cricket, released the ICC Cricket World Cup-2015 schedule on Thursday. The ICC issued this information by issuing a statement on the official website. This prestigious cricket tournament to be held in England from 30th May to 14th July in which 10 teams will participate. The opening match of the England tournament will be played against South Africa at The Oval ground on May 30.
Existing champion Australia will open their campaign against the ICC World Cup qualifier champion Afghanistan in Bristol on June 1. Two-time champion India will play their first match against South Africa in Southampton on June 5. Apart from this, India’s much anticipated match against arch-rivals Pakistan will be played on June 16 in Manchester.
The tournament will be played in a single league format and after the league’s 45 matches, the top four teams will make the semi-finals. Both semi-finals will be played on 9 and 11 July respectively in Manchester and Birmingham. The final will be held in London on July 14. In this way, 48 matches will be played in the World Cup. Eight of these matches will be day-night. Reserves have been kept for both semi-finals and final matches. Most six matches will be played on Manchester’s Old Trafford grounds, including the first semi-final.

India’s first match in the 2019 World Cup will be against South Africa on June 5. This match will be played in Southampton. At the same time, the match for the Indian audience, which means the highest interest, i.e. the India-Pakistan match, will be played at Old Trafford in Manchester on June 16.
